  • Commitment to continuous improvement in promoting diversity and inclusiveness in the workplace and the wider engineering profession.

  • Positive impact as a result of diversity and inclusion strategies.


  • Entries are open to individuals, teams, firms or other groups

  • Work substantially completed in New Zealand

  • May include work by non-engineers

  • Work substantially completed or initiative developed between November 2018 and November 2020

  • Do not have to be Engineering New Zealand members

Judging Criteria

  • Opportunity/challenge – need for the initiative or significant step change within an organisation

  • Vision/strategy – recognition of the strategic value of diversity and inclusion and development of a vision that goes beyond a formulaic commitment to diversity

  • Design/delivery – how the diversity and inclusion programme or initiative was developed and implemented and how is it linked to the broader business strategy or organisation’s goals

  • Impact – how it has made a difference to the business, its people or the wider engineering community
